Twenty years ago, Helen Hadley faced lice alone—picking nits, vacuuming, washing, and literally scratching her own head in frustration. She appealed to her pharmacist and to her children’s pediatrician, but neither could offer useful advice on treating head lice. It was an exhausting battle, but in the end she triumphed—discovering along the way that she had become an expert on head lice and lice treatment.

The experience inspired her to start her own business, and since 2001 The Nit-Picker Inc. has provided other stressed and anxious parents with cool-headed advice and a swift, chemical-free solution to head lice. The method used by The Nit-Picker team is entirely  natural—no products, chemical or otherwise, are used to treat lice and nits. Instead, The Nit-Picker team uses specialty lighting, lenses and combs, and the expertise gained from years of practice to remove head lice and nits by hand—with a phenomenal success rate that typically ranges from 95% to 100%.

Today, Helen and her skilled and knowledgeable team serve families in their homes around Greater Boston and as far afield as New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The Nit-Picker Inc. has successfully treated more than 5,000 individuals, ages 2 to 92, for head lice.
